A Cushion That Will Outlive The Outdoor Lounge It Was Made For

We picked up this lounge during a clean up campaign, probably over a year ago.  I was weighing up whether to replace it's existing cushion, and then it was chewed up by our puppy (thanks Dougie).  A year later, here's the new cushion, I'm pretty pleased with it, far more pleased than I am with the chair.  It was always pretty rubbish quality but has been used as a prop for a 7-year old's production of Jack-ass for the last year.

The canvas was pretty unenjoyable to work with, and I won't be doing it again in a hurry.  As I manipulated it pins would catch my skin and the canvas was pretty unforgiving in letting them out again smoothly (yuk).  Plus I feel pretty guilty about canvas being the first thing I subjected my sewing machine to after it has been saved from my former neglect.  I'm amazed it didn't break a single needle, I'm sure this is testament how well it was fixed.

Next I have three cushions to make from the off-cuts of the foam and canvas, which I'm considering inventing some kind of all-over-hand-thimbles for.  After that however, I'm really looking forward to making something pretty.  I try to only make things that I can vaguely say I need, that I might have bought anyway, but it does lead to some results aren't very exciting.  Bring on the frivolity!
