A visit from my parents and the school holidays has slowed to a halt my already tortoise-like productivity. Doing nothing for about 4 weeks, somewhat numbs the excitement of having finished a dress once.
HOWEVER, in the last week things have changed, although not in a actually-having-made-anything way. I have booked myself into a day course called "Getting to know your sewing machine", which I'm hoping might teach me lots of stuff I already know, but how to do it properly and well.
I also sent my sewing machine off to be serviced or find out if it's time to scrap it. I was massively impressed with the service provided by Colin Smith who promptly collected the machine from me following a phone conversation and would have got it back to me the next day were it not for a series of unfortunate events. Colin solved the "Is it me or is the machine?" mystery, turns out its me, the machine is fantastic. But on the bright side its not necessarily my skill that's the problem so much as my neglect of the machine. Not any more though, this is me turning over a new leaf, hopefully. Thanks to Colin's hard but affordable work I have a smooth running, seemingly as good as new machine, I will be proud to take to my course.
