NEWS FLASH: Blog succeeding at job for which it was intended

I read an article about Jane Fonda today, very insprational
I am extremely excited to have finished a second of the projects that I have had sitting in the cupboard for months.  I've wanted to make some leg warmers for literally years, but have been more than a little impeded by not knowing how to knit.  I tried and failed to learn, and also found a pair of (discounted) ethically made leg warmers for 5 pounds from People Tree , so gave up.

But increasingly knitting became an itch that needed to be scratched.  So much of being a mum involves sitting around while your children do interesting stuff, I needed something for me.  I don't think I'll ever like knitting or crocheting as much as dress making but I love it for its pick-up-and-put-downability.

Anyway 5 years later here are my leg warmers, made from a pattern in Yeah! I Made It Myself.
Thongs and Legwarmers - I don't know why I love you but I do
That conquered, is it too much of a jump to try this "advanced" pattern for a Romance Was Born / Cleckheaton collabortation?

  1. Hi Helen! I'm so entertained by your blog already :) Cute legwarmers, you're so Aussie with your thongs+legwarmers :) I've been knitting Cae a scarf for 2 years now. Maybe this winter... We can have a little knit-a-long on day in the coffee shop ;)

    1. Thanks so much, that's very nice to hear. It's hard to get my head around the fact that it's my blog and I can write whatever I like, no matter how uncool it sounds. A coffee shop knit-a-long sounds great, let me know when you're free, everything we do at the weekends is pretty flexible. If it's any consolation about Cae's scarf's progress, I've made a few scarves now, mainly for getting my confidence up, and its yet to be cold enough to wear any of them, even in the Blue Mountains or at 7am soccer games.
